Frequently Asked Questions

Where should I park?

When visiting the garlic for the first time it may be unclear where to park and getting direction from Google Maps will take you to the side of the building.

Follow these instructions to park...

1. Use the button below to launch Google Maps Directions or use your own navigation to:

The Garlic, 556 E 3rd Ave, New Smyrna Beach, FL 32169

2. Once you turn onto S Cooper St do not stop when the directions say you have arrived, instead continue to the next cross street (2nd Ave) and turn left.

3. The parking lot will be the second left about 500 feet after you turn onto 2nd Ave. Look for the Self Park Sign pictured here…

Please be respectful of our neighbors.

Street parking is courtesy of the city of New Smyrna Beach.  It is NOT Garlic property and is ok for compact cars only.  Sidewalks must be open for wheelchair accessibility.  Do not block any part of the sidewalk or park too close to stop signs or you will be ticketed by the city.

Can I reserve a table?

During the Covid 19 shutdown of 2020 we had a chance to review our reservation policy data.  We learned that offering reservations really slowed our overall seating process down.  We learned that most of our reservations arrived late, and many didn’t show at all.  We waited with an empty table for a party that may not arrive or is struggling to assemble their guests and get to the restaurant on time.  All this uncertainty increased the wait time for all our guests.

Since 2020 we started seating complete parties first come first served and it dramatically improved our overall wait time.   We no longer wait; we fill the next available table with a complete party immediately.

Do you book large parties for special occasions like weddings, birthdays, or anniversaries?

We do not have a private room to reserve.  All seating is first come first served regardless of party size.

Is the restaurant dog friendly in your outside patio area?

We all love animals but only service and support animals are allowed in the restaurant.

Can I bring a cake or a bottle of wine to the restaurant for my birthday party?

Only food prepared at the restaurant can be consumed at the restaurant.  Outside cakes and alcoholic beverages cannot be consumed on the premises.

When is the best time to come with a large party to avoid a long wait?

At The Garlic we handle many large parties on a nightly basis.  Our busiest hour daily, 364 days a year is 7pm.  The best time to bring in a large party is Monday through Thursday at 4pm or after 8pm.  For large parties on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday the best time is 4pm or 9pm.

Do you cater?

We are sorry but we are unable to offer any catering services at this time.

Do you offer takeout?
